One of our more interesting project sites was the Joint European Torus (JET), located at Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, is the world’s largest and most powerful tokamak and the focal point of the European fusion research program. Where We decommissioned a cooling only system operating on R22 and Installed a new system Operating on R410A in the HOT cell for the JET  Fusion Project.

Working on this particular project we had to under take additional on site training from the Scientist's in charge of the project. This including training on safe working procedures within Radioactive environments

 Always check the Radiation Meters before entering the Area, and again check the Radiation Meters for the Hot Cell before entering also!

With Over 11 kVA being switched while radioactive material is circulated through the components and confined chamber

 The biggest concern in the area was to protect the high voltage components installed in the chamber from damage to ensure the main project did not suffer any delays or unnecessary downtime.

and to maintain the integrity of the protective earthed cage surrounding the Air conditioning system for the new installation.
